Tyto Athene has an opening for a Mid-level UI/UX Design Specialist to join the team supporting the Office of the Secretary of Defense, Cost Analysis and Program Evaluation, Information and Analysis Group (IMAG) with with The UI/UX Design Specialist should have hands on experience in providing on site customer support and will be responsible for identifying new opportunities and creating a user-centered design and overall excellent user experience for government websites, applications, and Microsoft product templates. The successful candidate will have excellent organizational skills, strong problem solving and excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as the ability to work alone and as a member of the support and development team.
Responsibilities:
- Support requirements development.
- Recommend approaches.
- Design and create solutions.
- Research and streamline products for a DoD organization in support of an overall digital transformation initiative.
- Design screens that make up digital user interfaces, the individual elements or features on those screens, and the overall layout and flow of the entire experience.
- Create high fidelity prototypes for inspection and review and/or apply agile practices to iteratively modernization features over time in existing websites and applicants.
- Perform hands-on design work, interactive design, create wireframes and prototypes and work with developers to implement solutions.
Required:
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience analyzing and developing requirements for hardware, software tools and applications, or IT related infrastructure.
- Knowledge of fundamental visual, interaction, and UX design principles and processes.
- Experience handling classified materials.
Desired:
- Security Clearance – Active DoD Top Secret
- Experience with feature-driven development
- CompTIA Security+ Certified
Clearance: Active Secret clearance required
Location: Mark Center, in Alexandria Virginia, with occasional travel to the Pentagon and other offices in the National Capital Region.
